Even HEROES
need help.
About Us
The Tippecanoe CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program provides an invaluable service speaking up for abused and neglected children. But sometimes these kids need more than a voice. Sometimes they need goods or services they can't get anywhere else. They may need something to spark their educational or psychological growth and development. They may need special help to build the self-esteem and confidence required of children in these circumstances.

The CASAs for Kids Fund was created in April 1998 to meet this need.
The CASAs for Kids Fund supports the Tippecanoe CASA program in its efforts to enrich the lives of abused and neglected children. The Fund accomplishes this through raising, managing, and distributing funds to:
-
Provide positive intervention for kids through educational assistance, goods, and other services which are not provided by any other source;
-
Support CASA volunteers, staff, and other activities to further the goals of the CASA program; and
-
Raise awareness of the community's opportunity to make a difference in children's lives
Fundraising activities are held and resulting funds are distributed directly to meet the needs of the children involved with the court system and to support the CASA program.
The Subaru CASA Cycling Challenge is the main fundraising activity for the CASAs for Kids Fund.
Its success has enabled the Fund to provide resources for 1 full-time staff advocate to serve
children in the judicial system. Our community has CASA volunteers, but the need is greater
than the number of volunteers. The staff advocate position has taken dozens of children off of
the waiting list who now have the support of a trained advocate.
Examples of other items that are provided to enrich the lives of these children include:
-
Summer sports and educational camps
-
Dance, gymnastics, and music lessons
-
Enrichment activities
-
Birthday and holiday gifts
-
Special educational items and resources
-
Items to move the case to resolution
-
Scholarships to college and vocational schools
-
Training for CASA volunteers
-
